Mexican Sugar Skull Nail Art

Hi guys, here's a quick post to show you my Mexican Sugar Skull nails. I thought these would be nice for halloween as they are not too gross or scary (unlike some designs I have done in the past)! I love how you can use whatever colours and make them as detailed or simple as you like. My nails are all different shapes and sizes which is why I added in the black at the edges so they all looked the same shape at least. I have made a YouTube tutorial for this look if you'd like to try this out yourselves (Click here if you do!). When you're there please 'thumbs up' and Subscribe to my channel as I'm planning on creating more video tutorials in the future. Hope you're all well and see you soon with another nail design.

Monochrome Border/Outline Nails

I've seen these border/outline nails around for a while now but have never attempted this design myself. I'd always assumed it would be quite difficult and not really look right on my nails as they are all different shapes and lengths. But it turns out that they are really quite easy to do and don't look too bad on my different shaped nails. I'm really pleased I tried this design out and will definitely wear it on my nails again, maybe in a different colour combination. Although the black and white is really striking and I've had a lot of compliments on them. Have you tried out the border/outline nail art? What do you think?

Vintage Pastel Nails

Hello! Just a simple nail design today after the past Doctor Who themed nails. This design was super easy to create and would work with loads of different colour combinations. I painted all my nails lilac and used a baby pink for the ring finger. I then used a thin striping brush and created the triangle shaped tip at the end of top of each nail. I added some gold studs to the ring finger and thumbs just to add some detail. I think the colours work really well together and I can't wait to try out this design in other colours!

Bow Ties are Cool

Hello sweetie! Sorry, enough of the Doctor Who puns! This is my second Doctor Who design, it's a little more 'cartoon-like' than the last one but a lot more eye-catching. I used round silver studs for the Dalek, and glitter for the stars behind the TARDIS. Everything else is just nail polish, thin nail art brushes and dotting tools. I'm really pleased with how they turned out and hope you all like them too. xoxo

Doctor Who Nail Art

As a self-confessed Whovian, I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to create Doctor Who nail art. Bad wolf (teehee). I used the classic 'cosmic' nail art on all of my nails and then added detail in on the thumb and ring finger. The Doctor Who logo was easier to do that I initially thought using a white striper brush it was easy to create the straight lines. I then added in some pale blue with a sponge just to add some colour to the logo and blend it in with the other nails. On the ring finger I painted a TARDIS, this was a little harder as I had to paint little lines on the windows with a striper brush, if I had more room I would have also liked to have added 'Police Box' text along the top. Keep your eyes peeled if you are a Whovian like myself as I am planning on another Doctor Who theme design very soon. All I can say is... Bow ties are cool.

Florescent Yellow

Hi all! This nail design is very simple but stands out and I find that I get loads of compliments when I have these nails. I started with a Nails Inc navy base (I needed two coats to get it this dark) I then used a striper brush in white polish and created two thin lines in a triangle shape on each nail. Once these had dried I went over the white lines with another striper brush dipped in a fluorescent yellow polish. This design would look great in any colour combo, the more the colours clash the better :)

Monochrome Aztec

To create these monochrome aztec nails, I painted some of my nails black and others white. I then used black and white nail art pens and stripers (the Barry M ones' are really good!) to create lines, zig zags, triangles and spots. It's a really fun design to paint as you can mix up the designs a bit and go as simple or as detailed as you want. It was fun trying to think of a different design for each nail, although I just stuck to black and white stripes on my right hand! I can't wait to try out more aztec deigns in different colours, maybe a more summery design would be nice?

Spring Floral Nails Tutorial

Hi guys! Here's a quick tutorial on some pretty nails perfect for spring and the warmer weather. Floral nails are super easy to do as they are basically just different coloured blobs, perfect for beginners to try! I find that there are not many nail designs I can paint on both my hands but florals are pretty easy to do and still look good painted with my left hand. Hopefully you'll find these as easy to do and they also look great in all colours. Hope you like. x

1. Choose your base coat colour and paint all of your nails using this. I used a sky blue so that the pink flowers show up well. Cream and nude colour bases work just as well.

2. Using the colour you have chosen for your flower, paint blobs on your nail. The size and how many you paint depends on what you want them to look like overall. I just went for 3-4 large blobs to make a larger flower design.

3. Using a green paint two small lines from each of the 'flowers' and thicken them out to look like leaves.

4. Using a darker shade to the base flower shade, paint around the outline of each blob and swirl it into the centre so that you aren't outlining the whole of the blog, just half.

Extras: You can also add in some white on each of the flowers as highlights and using a darker green you can create depth in the leaves by just painting a smaller line in the middle of the leaf. Finish with a top coat and you're done!

Blackbird Fly

Hi guys! Just a quick post to show you some nails I painted a while back. I have seen a lot of nail designs with birds painted on them and considering one of my favourite songs is 'Blackbird' by the Beatles I thought I would give them a go myself. They were pretty easy to do and I found that using a brush worked a lot easier than a nail art pen with this design as you can get nicer flowing lines with a brush. I used a nude base so that the blackbirds really stood out. Hope you like xx

New York Nail Art.

It's that time of year again where I head off to the greatest city in the world. This is my third version of New York nails and they are definitely my favourite. Since theres been so many gradient nails around this year, I thought it would be a good idea to use gradient as a background, almost like a sunrise/sunset. I started with a dark blue to white gradient as a base coat and then added in the buildings using a thin brush. Then, using a tiny dotting tool, I added in the windows/lights. I also added in an 'I Heart NY' on the thumb. Hope you like the design, see you in New York! :)

Butter London: Rosie Lee Review

I recently bought this lipgloss and nail polish by Butter London in the shade 'Rosie Lee'. The lipgloss is priced at £15 and the nail polish £13. I had them both in a set for £9.99 in TK Maxx (Bargain!) I highly recommend TK Maxx for high end nail polishes at discount prices. I've bought OPI, Essie and Models Own from there before but this is the first time I've seen anything from Butter London in there and had to give it a try.

With Valentines day just around the corner this pretty pale pink set is the perfect shade for this time of the year. As the name suggests it is a beautiful rose shade and is not too bright or over the top if you're not a fan of bright pinks. The nail polish needs at least two coats as you would expect from a glitter polish (I have applied two coats in the images shown and a clear top coat). The lipgloss is just as lovely and is not too thick or sticky which is always a good thing when it comes to lip glosses. The lipgloss is not that pigmented and has little bit of sparkle just giving a natural light pink shade which is perfect for a daytime look.

These items are both available on the Butter London website but keep your eyes peeled for them in TK Maxx to save yourself some money. I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of both of these products and think it is a great gift idea for someone (or yourself!) for Valentines.

Valentines Day Nails - Glitter Love Hearts

Hi guys! Just another quick post for some Valentines nails and this is possibly my most girly design to date. I used a pink glitter polish to create love hearts on my ring fingers and thumbs. I then outlined them with black and added a scroll onto the heart on the thumb. My nails are generally quite small so it was difficult to add the text onto the scroll, hence why it looks a little messy. Hope you like this design and I will be back very soon with some more loved-up nail designs. xx

Valentines Day Nails - Polka Dots

Hello! I know I'm a little early on the Valentines nails but I thought I would do a few Valentines posts as there are so many different Valentines manis you can do. As you can all see from my blog I'm a huge fan of anything girly and pretty and Valentines day nails are right up my street. So here is my first design. Its quite an easy one to start with and not too over the top. I think the polka dots work well in these colours (very 'Minnie Mouse!') and the hearts on the ring fingers are cute but not too OTT. Hope you like my first Valentines nail design, a nice simple one to get started. :) xx

Lightning Nails

Again, it's been a while since I have posted. Truth is, I'm running low on ideas and inspiration, and have been a little bit lazy! I bought my dad and me tickets to go and see Jake Bugg next month and his new song 'Lightning Bolt' is the inspiration behind this nail design. I used the exact same colours as I did with my cosmic design but created a little 'cloud' at the top and shaky lines for the lightning. It's quite a simple design when you get the hang of it. They still look a little messy around the edges but that's due to the sponging. Hope you like :) xx
